The Hammer is an art museum and cultural center known for its artist-centric and progressive array of exhibitions and public programs. Particularly important among the museum's critically acclaimed exhibitions are presentations of both historically over-looked and emerging contemporary artists. The Hammer Museum hosts hundreds of programs throughout the year, including lectures, symposia, readings, concerts and film screenings. The Foundation’s endowment support advances the Museum’s expansion and renovation and allows the Museum to remain free and open to the public.
